PubChem Standardized Hex (Color) Codes for Atoms & Ions

Atom color scheme from the PubChem system as cited here.

As much as possible, make the channel protein color match the predominant ion flowing through.

Use this color code consistently; report “violations”.

Font Weight & Style

Use bold text to introduce new terms.

Image Width

As much as possible, try to use an image width of either 320px or 640px. Never enlarge the size to greater than the width (in pixels) that you saved or downloaded.

Use this syntax:
