This eText is dedicated to my father and mother, Burton and Ann Orvis, who were educators at a time when technology consisted of a manual typewriter and a mimeograph machine. They taught together in a two-room school. My mother taught all the children in grades K-6 my dad taught all subjects 7-12. Between them, they developed a curriculum for every subject K-12! Their caring and willingness to “go the extra mile” have been an inspiration to me on my curriculum journey.
